De Masterclass Marine Environmental Science en de daaraan voorafgaande filmavond bij TBL Cinemas waren een groot succes. De films waren die avond de best bezochte films van TBL Cinemas. Deze filmavond is mogelijk gemaakt met steun van het International Ocean Institute en het Ecology Action Centre, Canada, die de films voor deze avond beschikbaar hebben gesteld. De volgende dag kon een deel van de 96 mensen die zich hadden aangemeld voor de masterclass niet aanwezig zijn, en in totaal bleven 51 mensen de hele dag voor de zeer interessante presentaties van Dr. William Hawkins en Radjeskumar Asraf. Er was een levendige discussie met het publiek over de verschillende onderwerpen, waaronder met name visserij, overbevissing en aquacultuur. Vooral de laatste onderwerpen waren interessant voor het publiek. Deze activiteit werd georganiseerd in samenwerking met het Onderdirectoraat Visserij van het Ministerie van Landbouw, Veeteelt en Visserij en werd gefinancierd door het Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme.
