As usual we are very busy. We (Sharanya, a young volunteer from Seattle), Stellar and I picked up Harvey, a big male sloth, who had been offered for barter at the “ruilradio”. Fortunately, Luzmila one of our volunteers was just listening to the radio and immediately called us, she was very upset that anyone would even think of offering a sloth for barter. However, human Harvey was very nice, and he had no idea it was illegal to keep sloths or offer them for barter, for that matter, so he was very happy to part with the animal and know that it will be brought back to a safe forest. He did save it from certain death on a road in Saramacca where it was crossing.
